LIVE from TRIO

Decked out in orange and located in the Uptown Design District of Palm Springs you can find the popular TRIO restaurant.  This mid-week evening at Trio we met to support LIVE Magazine as they celebrated another fabulous issue. This issue’s cover selection presented Emmy Nominated Reporter at KESQ News Channel 3, Joe Galli.

TRIO’s owners Tony Marchese and Mark Van Laanen are community-conscious donating over $100,000 to local charities.  In fact, LIVE Magazine, KESQ News Channel 3, and TRIO have all been incredible supporters of one of our favorite charities, The American Cancer Society Desert Spirit.

It’s always a treat to be greeted when you first walk in somewhere by a sweetheart of a friend.  Troy Michaels, aka Teresa’s brother from another mother ( and father), was positioned perfectly at the entrance with a big hug.  My hubby Tim, Troy, and I swung around the corner of the patio to find Teresa and Tristan, friends Greg Robertson, Frank Naqvi, and the beautiful Karen Haines, founder of Spa Girl Cocktails.  Later joined by Kathy Schriefer, a rep for Crater Lake, we ordered drinks and appetizers.

Love black and white pictues, especially at our age!

The menu at TRIO is fun and filled with dishes for any type of appetite. Tonight, we just ordered off the bar menu.  I had the soy ceviche which consists of edamame, tofu, tomato, cucumber, avocado, onion, cilantro, sriracha, lime with a side of tortilla chips. Love, love this appetizer dish. Everyone else ordered various soft tacos with either chicken, fish, or skirt steak, sliders and side salads.  If you are a meat-eater ( I am not, Teresa is and loves this dish), TRIO’s Yankee Pot Roast is one of their popular dishes. It’s slow roasted with carrots, pearl onions, and sour cream mashed potatoes.

The LIVE Magazine mixer was both lively and live on Facebook with Tony Mataras interviewing guests like Palm Springs Princess Teresa Rogers and hubby Tristan!

Also fun was seeing friends Kerry Hendrix, Brenda Lynn Martin, Amanda Smith and her husband Gordon, as well as Dimitri Halkidis who hung out with us for a bit adding to the enthusiastic conversation!
